Today and Saturday, members of the McDade Bulldog Band participated in the UIL State Solo/Ensemble contest held at Hendrickson HS in Pflugerville. This is one of the most competitive contests of the year, and involves over 20,000 students across the state. The road to state begins in February at the region contest where ensembles have to earn a 1 and soloists have to earn a 1 on a memorized solo to advance to the state contest in May. Making it to state is an accomplishment in of itself and earning high ratings at state is another big accomplishment!
We are proud to announce that our brass quintet of Ian Johnson, Alivia Maybin, Aubrey Tabor, Jessica Dube, and Jackie Dube earned a 1st division at state! They all earned a bronze medal for their efforts
Lily Hobbs was our first soloist at the state level and in one of her best performances yet earned a 2nd division excellent rating on a complicated flute solo. She earned a silver medal for her efforts!
Congratulations to these band members and now a much needed break! Happy summer and go Bulldogs! 🎶🐾

The day has arrived! We have more chairs now and have planned to stagger the start times with Beginners and Intermediate bands performing as scheduled at 6:30pm and HS band/choir at 7:30pm.
This will allow us have plenty of seating and space for all of the families that will like to watch us perform.
Students: attire is red band shirt and jeans for beginners, and everyone else dress nice. Beginners and intermediate band arrives at 6pm and will be done at 7pm. HS band/choir arrives at 7pm and should be done around 8:15pm.
