Today, New Hope Lutheran Church donated dictionaries to all of our 3rd graders — and the kids are beyond excited! Their faces lit up as they flipped through the pages, discovering new words and learning how to look them up on their own.
Thank you, New Hope Lutheran Church, for investing in our students and helping spark a love for reading and learning!

The Pull Tab Program invites people of all ages to collect aluminum tabs from cans (beverage, soup, tuna, etc.) to support families who rely on the resources of Ronald McDonald House Charities. Annually, these little tabs, help generate almost $2,500 thanks to the generosity of individuals like you!

McDade, Texas — December 9, 2025 — McDade High School proudly announces the completion of a new campus mural created by freshman student artist Aspen Nixon. The project began in September, when Nixon and her classmate, freshman Chris Raney, collaboratively planned the theme, produced several design proofs, and rendered the final sketch directly onto the wall under the guidance of art teacher Rebecca Plumley. Principal Larry Hunter supported the project from its earliest stages, assisting with the design approval and planning process.
Painting began shortly thereafter under Nixon’s leadership, with Nixon serving as the sole painter during the early phase. In October, freshman Tyler Henry, newly enrolled in McDade ISD, joined the effort as an assistant painter, contributing to the mural’s progress through the remainder of the semester.
The completed mural reflects the diverse offerings of McDade High School, including athletics, co-curricular programs, and cross-curricular learning opportunities. It stands as a celebration of student vision, collaborative planning, and the strength of McDade ISD’s growing visual arts program.
