On May 1st nine members of the McDade FFA chapter attended the Star District FFA meeting at Akins High School. Our Star District is comprised of ten different schools from around the area, with McDade being one of the smallest of the ten.
Two of these members, Alexis Pacheco and Ashlyn Carpenter, took on the task of running for a leadership office for our district. It is an honor to be elected to serve on the board as an officer of the Star District FFA office. These student leaders guide and maintain the whole district. They oversee ten different FFA chapters, as well as plan and coordinate different activities through out the year for the district.
Ashlyn and Alexis are both chapter officers of our local FFA chapter. They help run and facilitate meetings and activities here in our small community of McDade, and they will now have a bigger task on their hands. As of today they will lead not only our FFA chapter, but a district of ten FFA chapters as well.
